Note: At one time, the LPD was hands down the best district, A or AA, in SWVa and probably the state for A. Things have changed, the Clinch Mountain may not be as good from top to bottom, but the top 3 teams this season MAY be better than the top 5 in the LPD (when all said and done). This is a good week for some LPD teams to make a statement about district pride....Appy and Clintwood.

    Re: Week 5 Perrrrdictions......

    Pound 42 Twin Valley 6
    Appalachia 18, Gate City 17
    Clintwood 28, Lebanon 14
    Rye Cove 35 Castlewood 6
    Thomas Walker 28, Coeburn 12
St. Paul 14, Twin Springs 6
    Burton 28, Powell Valley 14

I'm making a huge gamble on the Appy/GC prediction. Gate City may very well end up smoking Appy, but I guess if that's how it goes, that's how it goes! The game I'll actually be attending, however, will be the PV/Burton game. Can't miss that one, because it's of huge importance to the rest of PV's season and will show me what Burton is made of this year. I personally have a feeling Clintwood will end up defeating Lebanon, though I haven't watched the Wave play any this year. We've got some awesome games to see this Friday regardless!

Only predictions for me this week:

    Burton over P.V. 18-15
Appy over Gate City. 24-22 (This Appy tem is a good, solid tem this year. The best from there in a long, long time).

    Re: Week 5 Perrrrdictions......

Tazewell @ Abingdon: Tazewell is an up and down team to this point in the season.....Abingdon is just down (Taz by 21)

Battle @ PH-GS: Both teams are on the bad side however Battle may be showing signs of inprovment (Battle by 7)

Haysi @ Holston: Haysi is looking terrable to this point in the season and while they will probably still win the BDD they may not beat anyone else (Holston by 14)

Honaker @ Va High: Honaker is Down but still good enough to give Haysi a run for its money for the BDD title VHS is much improved (VHS by 28)

Montcalm, WV @ Hurley: Hurley coninues to dodge region D teams and looks to go out of state for another easy victory (Hurley by 21)

Twin Valley @ Pound: Pound flexes some mussle and moves to 4-1 on the season (Pound by 42)

Gate City @ Appy: This game will be over by the half......While GC and Appy play the same stile of ball GC has the edge at every position (GC by 35)

Clintwood @ Lebanon: Lebanon is scary good on D but the last few weeks have been turnover macheans on the other side of the ball and tend to not cover kicks well........Clintwood also comein with a solid D and a better than avg kicking game in a game like this field position very well may be the desideing factor (Clintwood by 1)

Lee @ Harlan Ind, Ky: Lee needs this win or thay may as well get ready for Basketball season (Lee by 7)

Castlewood @ Rye Cove: RC is not bad......CW is (RC by 21)

Thomas Walker @ Coeburn: This one puts the winning in the district drivers seat I personaly think it will be a close game that could go eaither way.......I have a soft spot for former LPD member Coeburn (Coeburn by 7)

Ervinton @ Big Creek, WV: Ervinton needs to drop football (BC by 28)

St.Paul @ Twin Springs: SP has there stud QB back and that will be enough (SP by 14)

Burton @ PV: BIG game for BOTH teams however if Burton loses they are still probably hosting a playoff game while PV may need to win the district to make the playoffs (PV by 7)
